Marketing Text the e-learning course contains 11 game-based lessons that guide students involved in the project through each step of the project. This course represents an effective and motivating way of student´s instruction.
1 – Introductory lesson. Why should you care about the cultural landscape and its stories?
Introduction to the Beyond the School project and its methods. Examples of particular games in the course. Special memory pairs game with old and new picture.
2 – Introduction to main European architectural movements: gothic, renaissance, baroque, classicism, functionalism, modern and post-modern architecture. Visiting historical towns.
3 – Time line: cars, castles, churches, doors, cupboards, weapons, and paintings. Co-existence of old and modern buildings. Architect’s opinion. Game – treasure hunt.
4 – Game - Dress 8 typical people from 19th, 20th and 21st century.
5 – In this chapter students can try to build a model village from the end of 19th century or town from the beginning of 20th century. They can use more than 40 objects to build their own place.
6 – It teaches students how to carry out an interview with a collector. From a phone call they will go to a personal visit and photo scanning. They will practice how to introduce the project and encourage collectors to cooperate. All interview simulations are prepared in an interactive way with series of tasks.
7 – Introduction of digital cameras. Exposure and composition of the picture. Most common mistakes. How to scan correctly? Finding the right angle for taking photo pairs.
8 – How to write a good text about a photo pair? Examples of suitable and unsuitable texts. Puzzle game consisting of photo pairs.
9 – Orienteering – work with a map and a compass outdoors. Finding a place where the historical photo was taken. Finding North. Using a historical photo and a map.
10 – Choosing the best time of day for taking photos, determining trace of the photo trip according to the historical photos.
11 – Recognizing right comments for historical photos. Determining the age of a photograph. Recognizing old occupations. Presentation of the project for the public. End of the course.
