Title TRADI – Innovative Training System for SME Support Institutions
Project Number LT/04/B/F/PP-171021
Project Type Projets Pilotes (2000-2006)
It is widely accepted that policies aimed at developing SMEs play a key role in the economic strategies of all major industrial economies. It has been recognised that good information and advising services constitute valuable support in the creation and development of SMEs, and contribute to competitiveness and adaptability of modern economies and their ability to grow.
However, most of SME support institutions - business information and consulting centres, are quite young in new EU members and have lack of knowledge and experience in providing their services. SMEs wishing to benefit from consultancy services are faced with their availability and quality problems, high fluctuation of employees and consequently development of SMEs is not stimulated and supported to the level declared in many local and international documents. Even in EU countries where SME consultancy services have been provided since many years, companies claim to have difficulties in receiving support corresponding to their needs. EU enlargement creates a new challenge to SME support institutions wishing to provide SMEs with information and advice on new business opportunities.
The main aim of the project - new e-learning materials that will be used to raise qualifications of employees of SMEs support institutions at their workplaces.
The primary target group is business consulting, information and advisory centers. Project results will also be useful for those responsible for SMEs support at national, regional, local authorities, universities and colleges.
The main results of the project will be:
developed and tested e-learning materials;
project website containing the developed materials, special internet tools for self-assessment and self-learning;
CDs containing e-learning materials and self-assessment tools.
The created e-learning materials will be tested and used at project partners’ organizations and their local SME support partners, and will be easily adaptable in other countries.
The main project impact, as a result of developed, tested and widely disseminated new innovative e-learning materials, will be raised qualifications of SME support specialists, improved their access to continuing vocational training in workplace, improved SME support services, fostered development and improved competitiveness of SMEs in project partners’ and other European countries.
