Marketing Text The book on literacy is the common effort of partners to present both the approach and experience of the project. The book has two parts; the first part is mainly theoretical and explains the values, aims and goals of content embedded literacy. It also presents the impact of content embedded literacy for Vet students from multiple points of view, including benefits for work life, quality of life, opportunities to mainstream the working market and so on. The second part is practical; it presents the experience of the partners in using CELiNE products gained through testing session and provides opportunities to learn practical strategies and methods for applying our products.
The booklet is a resource pack of activities that VET teachers should use in their teaching activities with their trainees in order to help them to improve their literacy competencies (oral communication, reading and writing, ICT competencies, et.al.) in the light of the requirements of the labor market in the New Economy.
The chapters of this booklet are the following: 1. Motivational activities. Levels of literacy and types of literacy, 2. Examples of the literacy challenges of certain vocations. How to find such challenges in the relevant occupation. The text universe of various trades, 3. How can you improve your literacy skills?, 4. Communication skills (including speaking and listening). How to make your writing understandable and how to present things orally, 5. The ICT challenges and rewards (compensatory tools), 6. Reflection on practice – critical thinking
