Finally, workshops, seminars and the participation of the partners of the project in conferences will also take place to enhance the marketing efforts and dissemination of the project objectives, activities and results. All partners have wide networks and will disseminate information to their networks, increasing public awareness and recognition of the project.
The proposed plan moves in the axis of promoting life learning and the valorisation of informal learning. More specifically it refers to the valorisation of qualifications that were acquired informally by executives of consulting institutions in the sector of the social economy with the creation of a certificate of European scope. The reason the specific plan was chosen is primarily for the enhancement of the educational background of executives in the sector of the social economy as a unique means for its effective growth. Also, through the particular gravity that will give to women, the possibilities of employment of women will be increased and their participation in the labor market will be enhanced.
The aim of the programme is the promotion of transparency of qualifications of employed individuals in institutions of consulting in the sector of the social economy. The individuals objectives of the plan is the facilitation of the mobility of workers, the individualization of learning and the wider application of methodologies and procedures of certification that were developed in previous programmes.
Moreover the project aims towards the certification of informal qualifications and in the establishment of a European certificate of qualifications with the title “Consultant of Social Economy”, to the assistance of professional growth of executives of consulting structures, in the establishment of a European standard certification, in the facilitation of the comparison of abilities and finally in the development of social enterprises.
The recognition and validation of informal and non-formal learning constitutes a corner stone in the strategy of lifelong learning, being that the learning outcomes must be recognized and evaluated, independent of where and how they were achieved.
In 2004 the Education Committee approved common European principles for the recognition and validation of informal and non-formal learning, so as to create trust in the systems. Despite all efforts, though, sectors and groups of individuals still exist in which there are no applications of such a strategy. A further objective of the Education Committee is the increase in the rate of employed women from the current rate of 52% to more than 60%. In the European Union, in 2001, only half of the total women that had completed primary education and were faced with significant problems in the validation of their already achieved knowledge were employed. Even though this is not the only contributing factor to the unemployment of women and difficulty in finding a job, there is an immediate correlation between the educational level and prospects of employment for women.
