The project’s aim was to compare and improve on domestic and European level the state of vocational education and trainings and developing and supplementing knowledge gained by graduates from vocational schools and technical secondary schools. There was designed an innovative program (8 modules) of vocational trainings devoted to eight selected construction professions (bricklayer, carpenter, concrete builder, roofer, electrician, plumber, plasterer, HVAC). This training course is directed to project beneficiaries who are professionally active and are willing to increase their vocational skills concerning innovation aspects in these trades. Additionally there was created module for trainer including methodology and guidelines which might be helpful for tutors during the trainings. Each chapter of this module was devoted each profession.
PROCONSTR materials were translated into six European languages: Polish,English,Portuguese,Italian,Greek,French. Project website: www.proconstr.eu.
Summary The main idea was that the final products would have a long-term influence in terms of vocational training in the whole territory of the European Union. Exploitation of unified pack of vocational trainings in all countries would result in elimination of formal and informal barriers concerning easy-flow of employees and equalize differences in professional qualifications level. Moreover the project would increase number of well-qualified employees. Equalization of qualifications between EU countries would result in effective experiences exchange; simplify identification of different types of problems and implementation of preventive means and innovation in construction works during day to day work. In scope of the project there was evaluated model of trainings which was possible to be implemented on different national levels and in different units interested in particular trainings e.g. PROCONSTR modules could be used as a supplementary materials to standard curricula in construction schools.
PROCONSTR project consisted of a few stages.
First stage was identification of differences and shortages in vocational education - European and domestic levels. Every partner would prepare analysis of situation in its country as well as identification of shortages concerning vocational education. There were chosen eight trades on the basis of conducted analysis and researches. During the second stage there was created scheme of PROCONSTR modules, methodology, scope of materials with support of audio-visual, computer materials, and practical exercises. Additionally there were conducted works on module for trainer. The last – fourth stage of the project was an evaluation of previous activities in form of running on domestic levels test courses for beneficiaries and trainers. Summary of the whole project was the final stage of the project – closing conference in Warsaw, final report and uploaded materials on project website www.proconstr.eu.

There were created following materials during the project lifetime:
Bricklayer. The innovations participants will discover on the course are: using thermo-insulating and thin layers and dry joint bricks. The advantages of this modern technology are: self construction ability, knowledge about using lighter materials, quality work improvement. The participant will gain knowledge about using new layers and blocks, new skills and competences concerning dealing with these specific materials.
Carpenter. The innovation which participant will learn at the course concerns: constructing modern timber beam formworks used e.g. with fairfaced concrete and self-climbing scaffolds. The participant will gain knowledge about construction of formworks, new materials and new fields of use for wood on a building site.
Plasterer. The new developments participants will learn about on the course are: using x-ray (barite) heavy plaster, x-ray protection shields for safe installations in x-ray rooms. The advantages of this modern technique are: use of environment friendly x-ray plasters and protections, knowledge about using relevant materials and techniques, quality of elements and works improvement.
Electrician. The following innovations will be learnt at the course: the safe installation of photovoltaic systems. The advantages of this modern technology are: use of environmental friendly energy sources (photovoltaic installations), knowledge about using specific materials and techniques, quality work improvement.
Plumber. The innovations participants will discover on the course are: installing and make the maintenance of solar thermal systems and knowing the innovative solutions for building conditioning (solar cooling). The advantages of this modern technology are: providing considerable opportunities to safe, generating heating water and meeting the 65-70% of the demand, improving energy efficiency, using renewable energies, using solar energy to produce cool air.
Concrete builder. The innovation you will learn at the course concerns fibre reinforcement concrete. After a presentation of the mostly used reinforcement fibres, the course will more specifically deal with the use of steel fibres for concrete reinforcement .
Roofer. The following innovations will be learnt at the course: the safe installation of photovoltaic systems on roofs. The advantages of this modern technology are: use of environmental friendly energy sources (photovoltaic installations), knowledge about using specific materials and techniques, quality work improvement .
HVAC. The innovations you will learn about during the course include: earth energy heating and cooling system. The advantages of this modern technology are: energy savings, low carbon emissions, quality improvement. The participant will learn about new systems, skills and competences concerning dealing with HVAC systems.
Module for trainer. This module includes didactic materials and other additional tools which are helpful to trainer during conducting courses based on eight job modules.
