Environment, energy, health and safety and quality are nowadays a continuous challenge to companies, once that it considers client satisfaction (quality), society (environment and energy) and workers satisfaction (health and safety). The motivation make efforts in this areas relies on customers demands, legal requirements, (eco)marketing and image improvement, costs reduction and improvement of efficiency and results, as well as employers satisfaction. Clients are becoming more consciousness and more demanding about environment, energy, quality and safety issues, so the course will help companies to achieve a performance suitable with clients’ requisites.
The objective of this project is to create an e-learning course, in the context of an educational game, comprising quality, environment, energy and health and safety areas. The project will allow the trainees to achieve the knowledge and good practices necessary to implement an Integrated Management System, according to the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology regarding the four areas referred above, and to improve their performance in each and every department of an organization.
The main goal of this project is to develop an e-learning course related with Environment, Energy, Quality and Safety at Work areas, oriented to companies workers, unemployed people with high degree education and also students, that have special needs in this areas.
The project is oriented, specifically, to companies’ needs, helping in the decision process during critical situations, in a cognitive and emotional plan. By making use of games, apprenticeship becomes a more dynamic and involving process, improving performance in professional activities and increasing learning results. When professionals learn through games, their comprehension and retention are superior to the usual learning practices. Because the project will be done in cooperation with six European institutions, the products will be available in: Portuguese, French, English, Greek, Swedish and Hungarian.
This project pretends to support participants in training activities, in the acquisition and the use of knowledge in real working environment, improving skills and qualifications that might facilitate trainees personal development, and then employability for those that are unemployed but also for those that are seeking for new carrier opportunities in the European Labour Market.
By using the knowledge arising from 3 past projects and then convert this contents in a e-learning scheme supported by a Game environment we believe that will promote innovation in vocational education and training systems, since nowadays it is not very common to see this kind of learning, despite of all the excellent results that the Game Environment is accomplishing across Europe and overseas. This new scheme of elearning will provide attractiveness to trainees and will help them in real working conditions.
Game4Manager will set new and innovative ways to improve the quality of educational materials based on ICT Education Content.With this project, we will try to contribute to increase the qualifications of the textile and clothing agents and other agents interested in the approached areas, namely at the technical skills level, as so to reinforce the skills of the info-excluded individuals at the learning to learn level and the usability of the ICT, guarantying in this way the access to the Information Society, in a context of equal opportunities and acquisition of skills at the digital literacy level, promoting the social inclusion.
Attending to the learning characteristics of each individual, this project will promote the individual development, assuring at the same time that each person can learn at their rhythm, by their time availability end always he wanted.
Sectors Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities
The eLearning environment to be created will be the simulation of a company with all its departments (commercial, financial, quality, environment, production, …), and the trainee will be faced with different situations, according with the type of department, and for each one the content will help him to acquire the necessary knowledge about the practices and management techniques to adopt in the quality, environment, energy and health and safety areas in order to implement an integrated management system with the four areas.In the quality area the trainee will be faced with questions and problems related with the control of productive process, quality of final product and the entire process regarding client satisfaction.
In the environment area, which focus is the companies’ external involving, the themes that will be approached are the identification and evaluation of environmental aspects, such as water pollution, air pollution e CO2 emissions, wastes production and environmental noise. The trainee will be able to acquire the skills necessary to control and monitor these aspects.The energy area will focus on the control and monitoring of energy sources (electric, natural gas, fuel, …) in order to improve energetic efficiency by applying suitable management practices and energy conservation measures.Health and safety area regards workers protection, so it will be approached the dangers identification, risks evaluation, and the implementation of measures to prevent accidents and professional illnesses like deafness or musculoskeletal disorders.
