Marketing Text The T-learning methodology (TV-learning, E-learning and M-learning) provides an answer to cultural mediators' and social workers' training needs.
Summary TIPS project aims at realizing an innovative training course based on T-learning methodology merging TV-learning, E-learning and M-learning. The training course addresses people who are interested in in working in the exciting new field of cultural mediatation by providing practical skills and theorical knowledge.
The European Parliament and the Council of the European Union have declared 2008 as the "European Year of Intercultural Dialogue". In this framework cultural mediators play a key role in the social integration process of immigrants.
Cultural mediators are involved in all welcoming services for immigrants, refugees and human traffic victims. Social workers require valuable, up-to-date training especially applicable in everyday work-related activities. The TIPS project aims at realizing an innovative pilot training course based on a T-learning methodology merging TV-learning, E-learning and M-learning solutions directed at cultural mediators' training needs.
The TIPS target groups involved in the experimentation of innovative pilot training course are:
• Potential cultural mediators
• Professional cultural mediators
• Social workers
TIPS system consists of the integration of three tools (a triple platform): TV-learning platform, E-learning platform, and M-learning portal. The use of the three tools provides effective didactic support available anywhere, anytime, offering flexible, personalized training paths. Different Learning Objects will be produced and tailored for each training tool. The Lifelong Learning Programme through the TIPS project supports and targets the needs of cultural mediators.
The TIPS project phases are:
• Studies and Research
• Preparation and Design of Educational Products
• Promotion and Awareness
• Quality and Evaluation
The TIPS project began with the realization of an extended comparative research on cultural mediators' training needs. Multimedia learning environments, interactive tools and specific contents will be developed in order to deliver an online training course for cultural mediators exploiting the T-learning methodology. Great effort will be put into ensuring successful promotion and dissemination of the TIPS project activities and results. The added value of the project will be guaranteed by the involvement of transnational target groups during the experimentation phase.
The TIPS project will be carried out by six partners from five European countries: Italy, France, Poland, Austria and Greece.
