Marketing Text QOL-WI is a questionnaire in the form of an interview to gather social and demographic information on the worker and the workplace.
The Information on the Worker and the Workplace (QOL-WI) is an instrument assessing personal information and social indicators at the workplace - objective measures of a person’s quality of life at work in checklist format. The checklist is to be completed by an informant at the workplace (job coach, employer, supervisor, etc) knowing the target person and his/ her work situation (with explicit consent of the worker with disability).
The QOL-WI is based on comprehensive literature review of existing research using various search procedures: Literature data banks, manual review of relevant journals and ancestral search. The questionnaire was generated from a large number of specifically relevant published sources on quality of life (at the workplace) and related topics. An ecological approach to QOL assessment was adopted taking into account subjective and objective aspects of a person’s quality of life. A second instrument assessing subjective aspects of QOL at work was also developed, “Interview for People with Intellectual disabilities in Inclusive Work” (QOL-WQ), whose application is described in a separate manual. The instruments were pilot tested in nine European countries in the first half of 2008.
