Marketing Text Interview in the form of a questionnaire for measuring the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilit in the workplace.
The Interview for People with intellectual disabilities in inclusive work (QOL-WQ) is a 44-item rating scale designed to measure a person’s quality of life at the workplace through personal appraisal. For individuals with sufficient language skills, the instrument is administered in an interview format. For people who lack the necessary language skills, the instrument can be completed by proxies (raters who know the person well and are familiar with his/ her current work situation).
The QOL-WQ is based on comprehensive literature review of existing research using various search procedures: Literature data banks, manual review of relevant journals and ancestral search. The questionnaire was generated from a large number of specifically relevant published sources on quality of life (at the workplace) and related topics. An ecological approach to QOL assessment was adopted taking into account subjective and objective aspects of a person’s quality of life. A second instrument assessing demographic and social indicators’ information (objective aspects) was also developed, “Information on the Worker and the Workplace” (QOL-WI), whose application is described in a separate manual. The instruments were pilot tested in nine European countries in the first half of 2008.
