Few apprentices and young people in vocational training study abroad. There are many obstacles to their mobility, and mobility among this public is still all too often an "extra-ordinary" occurrence.
In the context of the European project "REGIO-LLL" coordinated by FREREF, an interregional workgroup has been set up within a workshop-project led by the Rhône-Alpes Regional Council on the following topic: "The role of Regions in the mobility of apprentices and young people in vocational training".
In 2007, these partner Regions undertook a process of analysing the conditions necessary for mobility among apprentices and vocational training high school students, the aim being to formulate proposals for action by June 2008.
Defining objectives, identifying existing obstacles and potential solutions and field survey from Nov. 07 to Feb. 08
Seminar to enlarge discussion with stakeholders on 8 Feb. 2008
Drafting of recommendations until June 08. These recommendations were officially presented at the 2008 FREREF European Summer University in Thessaloniki

Result Recommendations are now being implemented through various initiatives and projects.
