Summary The project aims to facilitate the entrance of newly arrived Pakistani Women into the nursing and health sector by creating a combined programme for language, vocational training and practice in the hospitals and elderly homes. The programme is divided into two where the women who don't have any knowledge of the Norwegian language have a 5 month basic language course before the start the next course where the language is combined with health related topics and vocational trianing. We try to facilitate the participation of the women by offering childcare during the first course, and help to apply for it during the next course. We also seek allies within the Muslim communities, such as mullahs and other leading figures by recruiting women from the Mosqs. We also trained the mentors who are receiving the women in the workplaces to make them feel more secure about their positions. By breaking down the barriers to participate in the labour market, it will be easier for the women to work and become independent citizens of the country.
