Marketing Text The project was carried out from August 2006 to February 2008. A similar project is waiting for approval by Leonardo da Vinci for the years 2008 - 2010. The University of Reading (UK) is again prepared to take fully qualified lab technicians for placements in their labs. They will be there from August to January/February and they will work on a project with the help of one of their professors at the department of chemistry and/or pharmacy. The participants will receive references from their tutors.
Summary The aim was to provide lab technicians (chemical and environmental) with a placement in the UK after their qualification. In this way they should get the opportunity to work in their chosen field, get a further qualification and give them a broader view of the chances a training like theirs offers for further jobs. Another aim in sending them to a British university was to give them broader language skills as English is THE leading language in the laboratories. Another important aim was to make them more self-confident and allow them to take on the responsibilities of holding a proper job. All these aims were reached during this two-year-programme in which 4 persons participated.
