Summary IT Academy will develop distance education courses and materials for SMEs, with a particular bias on ICT and the use of modern technologies in business. Open and distance learning (ODL) constitute very effective means for the targeting and integration of both individuals and SMEs within remote regions into the new economy and further enable these target groups to thus benefit from professional development. During the project it is planned to develop 5 courses to cover: information literacy for SMEs; computer based project management; self-marketing through IT; use of IT in management of human resources and IT in the management and business administration of SMEs. A further video and case study manual will be produced addressing the issue of Ergonomics in SMEs and a dedicated web portal will be established providing a common platform for SMEs to exchange ideas, undergo self-marketing, inform on areas of innovation and access information on other SMEs. Project outcomes will comprise 5 cross-border IT course curriculum in all partner languages (LT, EE, LV, HU, SV & EN) available via the internet, an Ergonomics video/CD pack (similar partner languages) plus specialist student and tutor guides for use of the all the courses developed.
