Marketing Text “eFEM for practioners” is a 3 months course with about 135 lecture hours, which can be taken parallel to an existing occupation. The course combines on-site-seminars with web based training, offering a huge flexibility for learners. It will be offered in Czech, German, Italian, and Polish language. In this content the project seeks national as well as European associations for dissemination.

Summary The result of the ESoCAET II project is a training course for Finite Element Method (FEM), a part of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE). Due to the development of more efficient methodology, there is an increase in the importance of CAE as computers continue to supplement the old method of trial and error.
CAE has applications in multiple fields such as classic frame work stability analysis, crash simulation of vehicles, or the electromagnetic compatibility of electric devices. It even applies to simpler analyses such as the stability of a crank shaft or a window frame. Competence in simulation enables its applicants to solve issues which will become significantly more important for the European industry. As a result the FEM training “eFEM for practioners” helps technicians to get in touch with this key technology.
The project originated from its successful predecessor ESoCAET that had developed the industry oriented master’s degree program Applied Computational Mechanics. Market demand shows that simulation as a design tool for products is not only of interest for academics, but for technicians or craftsmen as well. Therefore, this educational offer had been transferred into a learning arrangement (blended learning) with a focus on computational mechanics.

Description Main task of the project was the transfer of learning contents for computational mechanics from the already developed master course to the level of technicians and other practitioners, supported by e-learning. As a reference, the predessesor project ESoCAET (Leonardo pilot project PP 146 103) has to be mentioned. Content was the development of an industry oriented master course for an advanced education in numerical simulation.
In ESoCAET II the learning contents have been adapted to the needs of the national job markets of the partner countries. Furthermore they have been translated in the respective languages. In the partner countries, a Europe-wide consistent certificate is aimed at, testifying the additional qualification of the participants in simulation techniques.

Product information With a new three month off-the-job course esocaet offers users and people interested in the application of FEM vital knowledge and additional skills in the application of FEM. Contents are conveyed by a well-balanced mixture of actual attendance and e-learning (blended learning). A consequent assistance of the participants by the tutor in the e-learning modules ensures the success of learning.
