Marketing Text INTETRAIN – Integrated Training Tool for workers in the metallurgy and machinery industry developed
The main outcome of the INTETRAIN project was the development of an integrated training toolkit for operators and managers/trainers in the machinery and equipment manufacturing sector.
The training makes use of a combination of learning methods including innovative information and communication technologies, tutoring, practical exercises and online evaluations. It has therefore a significant impact on the prevailing training approach being used in many small and medium sized enterprises, which traditionally and often due to lacking resources and capacities put less focus on a holistic view of procedures within their training procedures.
The training content is based on common EU regulations, industry standards and best training practice and includes training covering all legal requirements. The ICT tool has been developed within the Training TrackerTM e-learning and management system that is operated by the partner MDSL (P4) to enable organisations to get the benefits of online training quickly and cost-effectively. All contents were developed and translated online within this e-learning management system, which was specifically adapted to the training approach targeted by the INTETRAIN project. The “INTETRACKER” toolkit is available in the seven languages: English, German, Dutch, French (Belgian), Greek, Bulgarian and Slovakian.
The toolkit is supported by a monitoring tool to assist trainees, trainers and managerial staff to plan and evaluate the training progress. It provides a documentation of training lessons being taken, reached pass marks on tests and certificates generated according to training progress. The INTETRAIN Certificate is provided once trainees have successfully completed the self assessment of workplace specific training documentation and have taken the practical exercises together with their trainers.
Manuals for using the toolkit, for performing practical exercises and monitoring the progress of training have been developed and can be downloaded from the training area on the INTETRAIN website (www.intetraing.org). The manuals also provide support in accessing the INTETRACKER web tool through online registration (free of charge).
