Title competence profiles of a manager’s tasks in a SME
Product Type description of new occupation profiles
Description Definition and graphic visualization of the competences which a manager in a SME needs. The system of competence profiles describes this knowledge and the skills of an average but successful manager. It is adapted to the typical situation and tasks in SMEs.
Target group managers of small and medium-sized enterprises
The competence profiles are the basis for a manager’s certification in the CEMES certification system. The competence profiles describe the necessary competences in the fields of strategy, processes, staff, and finance and define the extent to which these competences are expected to be developed. In terms of percentage, the competence is compared to the competence of a specialist in the respective field. This means that a tax consultant has 100% competence in the field of operating tax and a manager of a SME should have at least 40% of this competence in order to be able to lead a company successfully. At the same time, this example also shows how difficult a definition in terms of percentage is without a basis in terms of content. That is why the exact competences expected from a manager will be described briefly. Examples and terms will illustrate and explain the percentages and extents exactly. This way, the system of competence profiles describes 24 special competences, 5 methodical competences, and 3 social competences which are to different extents necessary for the successful work of a manager. An overview of the competence profiles and two examples of the description of a competence can be found in the attachment.
The description of the product goes into print and will be available in 04/04.
