Summary The programme is particularly aiming at the exchange of knowledge and experience about advanced pedagogical approaches in vocational training on the subject of innovation in businesses and regional development. A particular focus will be on the role shop stewards have to fulfil within the process of innovation and how the educational institutes of European trade unions can support them in the best possible way. Given the rising demand in this field, the focus will be on the training of shop stewards in transnational companies who are at the same time confronted with (often) contradictory strategies of regional development. The programme is designed to enable trainers to understand and learn the regional differences of social dialogue on innovation. Particularly the cultural implications that need to be considered in the training of shop stewards and in the planning of it. The participants will learn how educational institutes of European trade unions make use of cooperation with local universities and companies in improving their and their customers ability to participate in social dialogue on innovation. The innovative ways in which new media can play a role in that will also be examined closely.
