Summary The ideas of the project are based on the concept that teaching methods have to be adapted to the structural change in vocational themes that has taken place during the last three years. The trend is moving away from classic lesson subjects such as technology towards fields of learning and complex forms of exchange. This makes it obligatory for the individual teacher to deal with mediation in the educational process. Business orientated learning and similar educational action are expected of the teacher. Furthermore criteria and methods are being used as a way to measure the skills being acquired.The project will be implemented alongside the Mobility project/ School exchange “ Development of teaching aids in four languages through influence and knowledge of quality management ”. Both projects are closely involved with the aims and activities of the project for competence in language (LA) BILVOC. Participants will develop common lesson modules on the subject of vocational training in foreign languages. We aim to develop a product (CD) available in Portuguese, French and English. It is the aim of the project to give teachers at SBSz Jena-Göschwitz insight into the assessment of the industrial manufacturing process. On this basis participants will acquire knowledge of process components, structures and evaluation. It will be clearly shown that there are similarities between achieving assured equality in industrial manufacturing and the planned educational process. The joint formation of the project generates discussion about uniform educational action and the necessity of unified goal orientation. During the visit to the partner school the teachers of SBSz Jena-Göschwitz will be familiarized with the guidelines of QM. Auditors from the partner institution report their experiences of certifying industrial enterprises. The teachers come to discover and know, which conceptional methods need to be used to achieve this certificate. Project formation and optimization will be discussed in seminars and the contents of ISO 9001:2000 will be debated. Process orientation will thus be the central theme.Records will be kept during the implementation of the mobility project “Elaboration of documentation’s in two languages as premise for the technical language teaching.” in the application period 2003/2004. This allows for the appraisal of the development process, noting of reserves, analysing of shortcomings and for student participation in parallel school projects. As a basis videos of with action and object description are being produced on CD in the Hungarian, English and German languages. The most important conditions of the project are however the experiences and records of teachers and pupils during the project development. The participants record their organizational activities and their temporal coordination. These records will be evaluated and improved with the Portuguese partner. It is the aim to set the organizational basis of the development of multilingual modules to thus enable a test over the project period.
