The aim of the exchange was an enhancement of language, social and cultural competence of the participating apprentices. Preparation: All participants had English basics in their school education before the apprenticeship. Before the exchange started, the apprentices were taught 10 English lessons for a short repetition. Cultural and social informations about the Norwegians were additionally given to them. The travel was organised by the respective project leader in Norway. He arranged everything about work, cultural trips and accommodation. All apprentices worked for 4 weeks in a Norwegian Company in their respective job. During the week and especially at the weekends they all took part in cultural excursions. They lived mostly in guest families and experienced thereby the social and family live of our hosts. Back to Germany the participants had to write a report about the time in Norway. The report included mostly the time in the company, describing the live at work. Also the cultural excursions and the
social live in the spare time and in the host families were reported. An evaluation paper was filled out and is enclosed to that report. A presentation in the exchange language (English) was held in front of the leaders of the program and the training department, done by the participants. All apprentices got an attestation for their participation in the exchange program. This attestation is added to their personal file.
