Marketing Text The project was addressed to a comprehensive target group of people in need of developing competences in Entrepreneurship for a specific, complex, and involving high scientific and technical knowledge economic sector: sustainable development applications bio economy.
Summary The sustainable development applications were of utmost interest. But most of the countries recently entered the European Union lack of competences and skills to develop innovative companies in the domain. The situation in Romania was compared with other EU countries, members of the European Federation of Biotechnology. In the BELA project were developed learning curricula and contents which were delivered to target-group by blended learning in order to provide training in business enhancement in life sciences for sustainable development applications. The target group comprises young entrepreneurs promoting sustainable development applications, scientists preparing to pass from the research field to the business sector and educators involved in teaching entrepreneurship. The products and results were ready to implement in the partnerships countries, but also in other European areas. The consortium consists of 4 partners from Romania (ICECHIM and USAMV Bucharest), France (AFMR Etcharry) and Lithuania (Kaunas STP) with complementary expertise and competences especially chosen to fulfill the project work program, meaning the two Romanian partners participated with specialists in life sciences research, high education and training, the French partner had experience in delivering training for organizing partnerships and networks for rural sustainable development, and the Lithuanian partner developed training to promoted the growth of entrepreneurial spirit. Two products from these foreign partners were transferred, by integrating them, but also by adapting to an economic sector of interest and by introducing modern blended learning systems, and by increasing the value with a new specific content dedicated to sustainable life sciences applications. The enterprise business in life sciences module were complementary treat the Intellectual Property issues. The impact was identified on 3 levels: (1) short term: acknowledge the key competences and skills needed to developed business in sustainable development applications of life sciences and developed blended learning by testing the training on a representative target group; (2) medium term: formation in the involved countries and at EU level of a general vision about the training in the field of interest as products and methodologies; (3) long term: at EU level introduction into educational and vocational systems of advanced and coherent learning tools to enhance the needed competences.
The project objectives
1) To build an entrepreneurial competences matrix in life sciences sustainable development applications (BELA matrix) by integration of dedicated survey results from 3 representative EU countries.
2) Were transferred 2 learning products to the foreign partners, which treating the sustainable development issues (FR partner) and entrepreneurship issues (LT partner), adapted to a new economic sector and integrated in a new geographical context, improved the innovative features ; the results being 2 curricula and vocational training modules “Sustainable Life sciences applications” and “Enterprise business and Intellectual property in Life sciences” developed in both paper and multimedia format.
The learning products added value was increased by elaboration of dedicated content to sustainable Life sciences applications and by complementary introducing the Intellectual property issues, needed for research transfer to market.
3) Was realized a blended learning system comprising face to face learning, but also e-learning, which improved and multiplied the ways of assurance regarding the ex-post valorization of the realized vocational training.
4) Finally was prepared a vocation training package, with dedicated teaching methodology and obtain the certification for BELA competences matrix ready to be implemented in the partnerships countries, but also in a large European geographical area and to export to other economic sectors as methods and procedures due to the increased European dimension.
