Summary Current employee selection practices concentrate mainly on borad educational qualifications and testing of dispositional characteristics. These, however, are often too crude for purposes of personnel selection. ICT vacansies like 'Developer'often remain unfilled and new job holders often do not seem to respond to the requirements of the job. The OntoTechnology approach beleives in utilizing job knowledge as a predictor of future job performance. Job knowledge, as opposed to disposition, has the major advantage of being malleable, thus allowing a person a centered approach to personnel selection. The main aims and objectives of this project are to provide detailed personnalized assessment and training of essential technical competencies and related job knowledge elements that are required for a certain position. Characteristics of the consortium: Amsterdam business school, CVO Antwerpen, BVBA Tom Baele, Corvinno Technology Transfer Center Nonprofit Ltd. A general description of outcomes includes:- a customizable, adaptive job knowledge test - a general metnal ability test - an applicant ranking based on integrated job knowledge and GMA test performance - an automatic and tailored e-Learning contect delivery based on the basis of test restulst - a cutting - edge semantic technology for job knowledge structuring, testing and evaluation. The impact envisaged is the following: - OntoTechnology is a powerful tool to pre-select applicants. Applicants are evaluated and ranked based on their real, valid job knowledge, resulting in greater person - job demands - abilities fit. - OntoTechnology cuts selection and initial training costs, by its enhanced applicant- position matching and personalized training modules. - Tests are customized to the requirements of a particular position. - Tests are adaptive and fully personalized. - Based on the evaluation a personal training programme is offered to applicants. - The OntoTechnology concept is based on years of solid academic research in the field of HRM and IT.
