Description The report describes the needs of children and youth with complex support needs in the various partner countries, based on a questionnaires and case studies. It also describes innovative and comprehensive functional assessment methods, based on the ICF and quality of life.This report serves as a basis for design of interprofessional in-service training
Target group General public, professionals and parents” dealing with children and young adults (0-25) with complex and intense support needs because of multiple disabilities.
Result The group of children with complex needs and multiple disabilities is often neglected, or insufficiently addressed, although there has been some progress in recent years. Actual vocational training insufficiently prepares professionals to deal with their complex needs. There is a need of transdisciplinary collaboration of all concerned: parents, teachers, daily-life supporting staff, medical & rehabilitation staff and vocational training staff.
