Marketing Text ALL4WELL English course software for German, Italian and Romanian blind and visually impaired learners working in the wellness sector, to be used through an alternative interactive user interface for language learning using force-feedback devices (joystick and 3D-sound technology).
The English course is addressed to German, Italian and Romanian visually impaired speaking learners working in the wellness sector. The concept comes from the LLP ELLVIS and VET4VIP projects and basic idea was to transfer the existing modules and to adapt these modules to the needs of vi learners in the wellness sector. It has an alternative interactive user interface for language learning using force-feedback devices (joystick and 3D-sound technology) used within both projects mentioned above. The course is designed for beginners learners who – for whatever reason – cannot read or write Braille. Therefore the course focuses on listening comprehension and oral skills and covers level A1. Designed as self-learning course, it can also be used in the classroom.
To support usage in the classroom, the ALL4WELL course is accompanied by the Teacher's Manual (see product n. 3). Instructions, assistance, grammar information or cultural background information are delivered in the learner language (German, Italian, Romanian).
Target group Blind and visually impaired German, Italian and Romanian speaking learners working in the wellness sector, all partners and language teachers.
Result The result is a vocational English course. It is the core and main project’s result that consists of a language learning tool, a topic-oriented package modules for German, Italian and Romanian blind and visually impaired learners working in the wellness sector, like masseurs and physiotherapists. For this target group good communicative skills, knowledge of foreign languages and intercultural skills are absolutely necessary. The course helps them to get better employment perspectives.
Area of application The sound files are included in the English course software (Product n. 5), which can be used as self-learning course and/or combined to a course, for example, as a topic in the classroom, due to its modular design. Its modules are flexible, can be further adapted by the language teacher to a learner's specific needs through the use of the Authoring System (see product n. 4). The specific content of the modules (topics, learning goals, methods) follows the guidelines set by the Qualification Framework and Course Specifications (see product n. 1).
