The current concerns in Europe with the increase of aggressive acts committed by young people, whether on the streets or in schools, and in Protection institutions where they may be placed, and the insufficient results arising from technical intervention, undermine the methodologies used so far and the technicians’ competence, on which relies their motivation.
ARPI proposes an innovative methodology prepared to technicians from different areas of social, educational and mental health institutions and agencies from FR, ES, DE, IT, adapting their lines of action to concrete situations on each country and region. This methodology, allows to transfer situation from activities to concrete problems of everyday life.
ARPI allows an increased training for feminine professionals, representing an surplus value to their work and professional recognition, as their participation in the activities show a statement not based on physical strength but on the ability of self-confrontation and self emotional control before difficulties presented and transferred to real life issues.
What is innovative in the ARPI project?
1 - The combined use of physical activities with others of psycho-social intervention in the modeling of social behavior;
2- The internalization of emotional and self-control techniques being drawn from the events identified in physical activities;
3- The consolidation of emotional self control techniques obtained through their own reproduction, made by individuals during actual practice, and along with other group members;
4- The opportunity for 'incidents' occurring in practice, being exploited for a specific reflection/debate, made afterwards, allowing, through metaphors, analogies between the most appropriate responses experienced in the activities and real life situations and problems;
5- The consolidation of social and personal skills being accomplished through the preparations of material ‘products’ (photos and texts), which allows a systematic analysis on changes occurred in each individual’s behavior (wall papers, blog, website with products obtained from the activities);
6 - The elaboration of a Personalized Progress Plan being the result of active participation of each individual, and of its ability to identify their own skills, namely by taking advantage of the existing resources, individually and in the community.
General description of tangible and intangible results
- Adoption of a common ground methodology;
- Guide development in 6 languages (EN, FR, ES, DE, IT, PT);
- Decentralized Training Sessions, at least 10 technicians;
- 20 to 40 cases analyzed (youngsters monitored in each country).
- Dissemination on 6 national institutions networks
- Acquisition of complementary skills by technicians, needed to carry out their functions (ability to reflect in a multidisciplinary way, reorganize monitoring processes and redefine their roles), which will bring improved services and better professional integration
ARPI training intends to create and develop a new mentality of trans-national cooperation, opened to innovation, to national contexts adaptation, to professional adequacy towards communities needs, and promoter of their integrated development, encouraging articulation between national and transnational networks in the field of social intervention and education / socialization (in the wider sense).
Through ARPI is intended to eventually provide for the innovative and useful, the transmission of a common methodology that is sufficiently diversified in the EU and to adapt to the constraints and national contexts, allowing an overall improvement of the intervention (in EU) taking advantage of the creativity afforded by the needs of national adaptation and flexibility, responding to the needs of communities and labor markets.

The aim is to develop actions that allow dissemination of ARPI and its results, in order to make it's method accessible by interested social, educational and mental health professionals.
The Innovation of ARPI’s method, applied "in situ", may create a new way of understanding the relationship between theory and practice and the need for training models useful and adapted to the needs of professionals, facing the objective to resolve problems of a community.
In all transnational meetings, decentralized and carried out in each country, there will be an open day for invited entities, national partners and local or national media in order to inform them about the project, its methods and obtained results. There will also be given information on how to access and maintain contact with the website and how to be a part of the of partners’ network, in order to apply the method after the end of the project.
