Title Automatization, Robotization for a new Reindustrialisated Europe
Project Number 2013-1-PL1-LEO05-37568
Project Type Transfer of Innovation
Together with overall development (tech, social, cultural, etc.) the necessity for manual work will decrease with increase in necessity of creative work. It must be, and will be supported by constant development of human knowledge.
The holistic training courses for automation and robotics tailored for management and workers of manufacturing SMEs is a contribution to that trend.
If you are the SME manager remember that well educated workers skilfully and consciously utilising the A&R facility will assure costs reduction, product quality increase what result in better customer satisfaction.
The ARIALE system is just for you!
As SME manager you can encourage your workers to their personal and professional development, what brings benefits for both parties. As a worker you can develop yourself to increase your competitiveness and mobility on the (European) labour market or convince your boss to invest in your knowledge what, of course, brings benefits for both parties.
The post industrial Europe cannot effectively fight the economic crisis. The Europa 2020 strategy goal is the advancement of the European Union economy. It is impossible without re-industrialisation. To achieve the goal of E2020 strategy and to keep high position of Europe among other world economies the EU have to, in near future, intensify actions to reverse the declining role of industry. The re-industrialisation will notably be based on SMEs in which the production processes are not automated enough. But the economic crisis will force the changes. Existing, as well as new companies will invest significant efforts in Automation and Robitisation (A&R) to minimise costs by eliminating manual work. Combination of all this factors will result in near future that the market demand for less qualified workers will decrease but for high qualified specialists for different industry branches will explode.
This project goal was to transfer and further develop innovative results of AutoMatic project and implement them to e-Learning solution for new European countries and new sectors of industry. Project ARIALE results are: training content, ICT solution and methodology. Main objective: to develop innovative training solution providing up-to date knowledge on A&R.
The consortium consists of three partners of AutoMatic project and two new partners from Poland.
PIAP’s activities are devoted to S&T research, design of small and medium-sized production and introduction of modern A&R technologies to industrial enterprises. Have also long term experience in providing VET trainings.
The Technical University of Gabrovo provides degree courses for Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. in electrical engineering, electronics, automation, computer science, mechanical engineering, management and social sciences.
European Center for Quality Ltd. is a consulting company working in the field of EU projects and programmes and Quality Management Systems development and implementation. The company works in close cooperation with a number of foreign partners of consulting companies, educational and universities, training centers, non-governmental organizations, etc.
LUISS conducts its research activities in collaboration with national and international partners, achieving important results in the field of e-Learning.
Polish Welding Chamber of Commerce brings together businesses with production activities, operational, commercial, design, service, research and education in the field of welding or welding using technology in the manufacturing process.
The envisaged impact will be, in short term, to increase the required level of knowledge in target groups on implementation and maintenance of advanced A&R and ICT solutions in SMEs; in long term to increase attractiveness of the VET systems and practical implementation of ECVET.
The main objective of the project ARIALE was to transfer results of AutoMatic project to Poland. However, the existing training content was updated and enriched in multimedia content and implemented to advanced e-learning environment freely accessible by the Internet.
To realize this ambitious goal, partnership containing institutions from different countries was set up. Project partners have required expertise and knowledge in scope of knowledge presented in the course. Some of them have common experiences from former LdV projects.
The elaborated training system comprises of eLearning solution, learning methodology for e.g. preparation and providing of training and the training content.
The content of courses will cover rather wide range of aspects regarding A&R in SMEs:
• ICT based means for automation and innovation
• Sensors in industrial automation
• Actuators in industrial automation
• Application of PLC in industrial automation
• Industrial networks and interfaces in industrial automation systems
• Industrial robots in automation systems
Moreover, training materials are applied to the advanced eLearning solution which is the most flexible for trainees solution and in some cases, the best and only way for vocational development of SME staff.
Utilization and distribution of results
Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities
The result of the project is comprehensive training system on Automation and Robotics for small and medium manufacturing enterprises. The system consists of three main components: ICT system, training materials and methodology.
The ICT system was build on well known, widely used and fast developing Moodle LMS. The system functionality was shaped according to end users feedback. The courses can be considered like a knowledge base but not as the academic course with strict progress checking and evaluation. The learners have free access to the entire course materials, they can start in any point any lesson and continue learning in convenient for them pace, direction, time, etc. They finally can obtain course completion certificate but of course it is available for one who completed the entire course and achieved at least 80% correct answers.
The methodology is in simple words the guidelines of how to develop courses, provide and organise them or how to maintain the system.
