Marketing Text Effective organization of producers is one of the most important ways of increasing agricultural production, obtaining good quality products and raising life standards of agriculture professionals. The experience of developed countries shows that there is a correlation between industrialization of agriculture and level of organization among workers. This is because setting agriculture policies, determining the conditions for their implementation, thereby influencing political mechanisms, being effective in the market and realizing rural development by increasing efficiency through use of modern methods is possible by organized power – organized producers (İnan et al., 2000). As most agricultural enterprises in Turkey are neither big enough nor capable of accumulating capital; enterprises lack adequate investment, use of agricultural input subsidies remains limited and modern agricultural technology is not being used. Agriculture organizations enable the agriculture producers living in rural areas to use their existing products more efficiently, to obtain agricultural input subsidies in favourable conditions, use modern agriculture technology, to market their products in the best way and benefit from public services (Karlı, 2000). Agriculture remains important for Turkey, where 30 percent of the population lives in rural areas (Anonymous, 2011), the agricultural sector employs 23 percent of the active population and creates 9 percent of the GNP (TURKSAT, 2014).
Description The contribution of agriculture to employment is related to the state and quality of workforce; which means effective use of country’s resources – inclusion of existing resources in the economy in the most effective way. From this perspective, unemployment continues to be a crucial problem for all the countries (Anonymous, 2002). One of the methods for fighting unemployment is to identify professional and technical personnel that the country needs and train them. Policies for raising quality of workforce such as short trainings and consultancy services are frequently used in employment policies (Anonymous, 2012).
