Project Number 2013-1-FR1-LEO05-48961
Project Type Transfer of Innovation
As one of the priorities of the Erasmus + programme, ECVET, European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training, is more and more implemented by vocational education and training organisations in Europe.
It is necessary to prepare the actors of the transnational mobility to the ECVET specificities.
Pro-ECVET answered to this need to train and to qualify people taking part to the implementation of ECVET (teachers, trainers, transnational mobility coordinators, mentors in enterprise, etc.) by elaborating a training standard and a qualification standard and by getting the qualification accredited by an awarding body in each partner country.
Pro-ECVET supported initial and continuous training for teacher, trainers, counsellors and managers of Vocational Education and Training (VET) establishments.
The partners were strongly involved in mobility projects (as hosting and sending institutions) and in projects developing the ECVET system. Through their experience they noticed a need for developing the knowledge, competences and skills for the VET trainers and teachers, but also for the other facilitators of transnational placements (i.e. transnational placements coordinators, other staff from VET organisations, mentors in enterprises) so that all involved will be ready for the implementation of ECVET.
For that they implemented a training offer based on 5 modules:
- apprenticeship in Europe
- organization of transnational ECVET placements
- intercultural communication and project management
- the assessment in the field of ECVET
- communication and project valorisation.
Each partner had the responsibility of each module, but they developed them together, especially during the two European classes. The modules were experimented in each country and then adapted.
Another mission for the partners was to get the qualification accredited by an awarding body. Thus they have negotiation and valorisation activities with different organizations and institutions. At the end of the project they all had a solution to have the qualification accredited or recognized.
Pro-ECVET brought and will keep on bringing in the future a real added-value to the learners’ transnational placements in Europe thanks to trained and qualified professionals.
The Pro-ECVET partners shared the work for the elaboration of the 5 modules, which constituted the training of European Vocational Mobility Instructor. They divided the module they were in charge of into units of learning outcomes (which were themselves divided into learning outcomes (knowledge, skills, competences)) and they proposed methodologies of teaching and assessment method.
The partners experimented all the 5 modules but they were free to complete the basis proposed by their colleagues with their own resources.
After the experimentation, during the 2nd European class, the partners reworked the modules. They kept the division in units and learning outcomes, but for each learning outcome they defined: the aim / the context, assessment criteria, assessment methods and evidences of assessment, all of that on the European Qualification Frameworks levels 4 and 5, as the partners positioned themselves on these two levels. An assessment pack was elaborated for EQF level 5.
Besides the partners cooperated with an awarding body of their country in order to have the qualification of European Vocational Mobility Instructor accredited. By the end of Pro-ECVET they all had the qualification accredited or recognized in their country.
During Pro-ECVET there was an internal and an external evaluation. Reports of each of them were elaborated. Besides the process transfer and the experimentation are also presented in a report.
At the end of Pro-ECVET the partners took the necessary measures to plan and to offer the training after Pro-ECVET ended.
