Marketing Text This report summarizes the main findings of a desk research conducted in the partner countries, targeted at identifying the competence needs for succeeding in the different Job Roles/ Functions along the e-Learning value chain.
This document presents and summarizes the findings obtained through the research carried out by the partners.
The first area of research dealt with products and services on offer in the virtual-learning environment. The purpose of this task was to develop a clearer idea of the virtual-learning sector itself. It was suspected that there would be a wide range of these available but that there would most likely not be strong country-specific differences. At total of 65 organizations were identified in five different countries. These did in fact offer a wide range of products and services.
The offerers of products and services in the area of virtual learning should be – at least theoretically – the primary seekers of qualified virtual-learning employees. For this reason, it was decided to first check the organisations' own websites for employment offers as well.A total of 44 organisations in five countries were identified as searching for qualified personnel. Some organisations, of course, were looking to fill more than one job role. Overall, a total of 68 different job profiles were identified. The data collected for each, where possible, encompassed not only the job title, but, more importantly, the activities that the person would be expected to perform, as well as the requirements, in terms of qualifications, experience and capabilities that the applicant should have for the job.
The document compiles and explains the research results obtained and draws conclusions on knowledge, skills and competences needed in Virtual Learning Professionals.
