Marketing Text The mapping of qualifications collects and report all the qualifications available in the involved countries for the T&L sector and related to the 4th and 5th EQF level. The EQF/NQF levels and the body awarding the certification are included.
The report entitled “MAPPING OF 4th AND 5th EQF LEVEL QUALIFICATIONS” presents the results of a desk research carried out at the beginning of the PROMETEO project in 6 European countries (National Studies). It relies on contributions from partners who were asked to provide research-based information first on the transport and logistics VET systems and secondly, make a focus on EQF levels 4 and 5 qualifications. We analysed the situation in the following countries: Belgium, France, Italy, Spain and the UK.
In order to analyse the different national reports received by PROMETEO partners, AFT sought a way to classify them and find synergies when relevant. Due to the diversity of VET systems this was not so obvious. However, the one we thought to be more relevant regarding the context of PROMETEO was that of Jonathan Winterton (2008). Indeed, it proposes a simplified classification with two dimensions: that of “skill formation” (school or workplace) and that of the mode of regulation of the VET system (state or market-regulated). The first part, taking into account this classification, presented Professional training in the field of transportation and logistics anlysing the following aspects: regulatory framework, governance, implementation of professional training, training providers and vocational training financing.
The second chapter presents the main relevant existing qualifications on EQF levels 4 and 5 in partner countries. Indeed, in order to better investigate what professional profiles of the fourth and fifth EQF level are interesting to both the transport and logistics sectors, and in a broad sense, for the "labour market", both for the qualifications system at national/regional level, which responds to training strategies implemented by the bodies responsible for policies related to VET, partners have been asked to identify and describe briefly the existing ones at national or regional (if more relevant) levels. The results are presented in the report and in a separate Excel file for better visibility.
