Title NaSaBau - Transfer of innovativ curricula of consulting building owners (SURECON) in the area of sustainable renovation
Project Number DE/13/LLP-LdV/TOI/147681
Project Type Transfer of Innovation
Sustainable Renovation is a key element to achieve on the European climate aims because the largest potential for saving energy is in the housing stock.
There often is a lack of communicative and social key competences for planners, architects and craftsmen to communicate in a constructive teamwork and to consult building owners effectively in the area of sustainable renovation and energy-efficient modernisation of existing buildings.
The innovative SURECON-Curricula impart these key competences and fill a gap in the system of vocational education and training. This opens up new markets and support possibilities of employment in small and medium-sized enterprises SMEs. Transfering the Curricula to the partner countries Austria, Greece and Ireland and integrating them into the regular range of the national vocational training systems was a major project target.
Sustainable Renovation is a key element to achieve on the European climate aims but this section does not develop as fast as necessary. Studies show as an essential reason the lack of communication between planners, architects and craftsmen. Furthermore the consultation of clients focusses to much on technical details instead of the clients´ objectives and needs.
The actors lack the communicative and social skills for a comprehensive customer-oriented consulting . So major market potential and job creation remain unused. The stakeholders have an urgent need for appropriate practical developments that are not yet offered in the systems of vocational training.
The aim of the project was to fill this gap in the education and training systems by transferring the innovative SURECON curricula. The transfer of the curriculum enabled the participants to offer clients a comprehensive, transparent and continuous consultation process. The close cooperation with relevant institutions, such as professional associations, chambers of commerce, businesses and training providers helped to ensure the practical combination of education and working life.
NasaBau proceeded by working packages as follows:
Step 1: The SURECON curricula were translated into English and Greek and adapted to the national particularities of the partner countries (traditional construction styles, structure of the construction industry etc).
Step 2: The adapted curricula have been integrated into the regular range of the national vocational training systems .
Step 3: Disseminators and instructors were recruited and trained.
Step 4: The curricula were tested, evaluated and, if required, modified in all partner countries.
Step 5: ‘Practice Partners’ in construction and housing industry were recruited.
