Marketing Text The project "Identify strengths - use new chances" has dealt with the assessment and visualization of informally acquired skills to the benefit for workers older than 45. It has developed an internet platform for job seekers with an online tool with a test method for the detection, assessment and certification of informally acquired skills. The project has transferred this innovation from Austria to Spain, Italy and Germany.
The project "identify strengths" has dealt with the subject of evaluation and visualization of informally acquired skills for the benefit of workers aged 45 and over.
The project involved the transfer of innovation of an online tool developed in the project "searched and found" (see http://www.searchedandfound.net). The project was based on a special online diagnostics. Its aim was to target not only the interest but also to capture needs, skills and personal characteristics of the people objectively.
The project "identify strengths" approached as a central objective the development of a test procedure for the identification, assessment and certification of informally acquired skills of workers over 45 years and building upon LLL consulting methodology, to use the results of the diagnostic test process efficient for the determination of their own strengths and to practically implement. An objective diagnosis was associated with subjective personal advice and thus created a clear distinction from other measures for competency assessment and coaching.
Due to the strong relation of the partners to the target group in their daily work with high visual impact of the tool on the target was achieved. This diagnostic tool is available to users in different languages (German, Spanish, Italian and English). Through a clear and uncomplicated approach and user-friendly tool (web-based) a good impact in the field of professional integration, specific training, the improved situation on the labor market for older workers was achieved. In addition, the concept has lead to better European cooperation in the field of assessment of competencies.
In the project "recognize strengths" a diagnostic test procedures for the collection, assessment and certification of informal skills acquired by workers over 45 years was used online. Additionally a Life-Long- Learning consulting methodology was carried out in order to use the results of the diagnostic test procedure efficient and to enable the practical implementation. The development of this test method assists workers over 45 in their professional integration in three key sectors. These three sectors ware ICT (information and communication technology), health care and tourism and leisure industry. The online tool consists of two areas, the personality area and the area of interest. The personality area consists of 6 dimensions: activity, extraversion, openness, social skills, safety and reliability. The item pool from the personality area includes about 360 items. The area of interest includes about 320 items.
The first phase of the project has included the development and translation of the online tools. These mainly included the adaptation of the test areas on the target group and the economic sectors which the translation of tests and items.
The second phase was the testing of the online tool with the target group with qualitative and quantitative tests done. In parallel, two manuals and a consulting methodology have been developed to ensure that the employment counselor could use the online tool optimally.
The project also developed and distributed brochures, folders and posters. Via a stakeholder network with labor market actors and company representatives and other experts during all project phases accompaniment, valorisation and promotion of the Project was garanteed.
After the end of the project the online-tool and other Project results are used by the Partners in their work with unemployed people. Furthermore, they will be accessible to other relevant steakholders and partners. The legal framework conditions were fixed in a common Agreement and signed to clear the responsibilities etc. for this. The website and the tools will be available at least seven years. Currently it is analysed, whether the tool can be used in professional orientation and counselling for refugees.
