Marketing Text The present Info-Training Kit is addressed to health sector managers from European health care institutions, who wish to improve and enhance their competencies and management skills and, at the same time, the performances of the staff by re-orientating the focus on human resources development, work safety and sustainability.
Chapter 1 is the introductory part, describing the TAKE CARE project and its aims together with the results of the preliminary research intended to show the requirements for the European Health Sector managers, the advantages deriving from managing health care facilities in a Safe, Sustainable and HRM oriented way and the main problems faced by managers.
Chapter 2 of the Info-Training Kit is dedicated to the implementation of Lean Thinking at work. After an explanation of the meaning of “lean” thinking, managers are guided in the implementation of the main 5 lean principles for a health institution and in the development of the key skills required. Benefits deriving from lean thinking in caregivers management are also explained, making a clear distinction about social and technical aspects of lean thinking.
Chapter 3 deals with health and safety regulations to be applied in daily activities. Managers are guided in the way to identify and keep up to date with the main regulations, to implement prevention measures, to identify and evaluate labour risks and hazards. A specific part is devoted to suggestions to raise the awareness of caregivers on health and safety at work, and to identify training needs regarding general risks in health care institutions.
CHAPTER 1 - Int roduct ion
Chapter 4 is about soft skill necessary to work in the healthcare sector, in particular managers are guided in the development of the following skills in caregivers: empathy, burnout prevention, communication with doctors as well as work - life balance promotion.
Chapter 5 provides support in the management of differentiated workforce with regards to specialisation and internationalisation, in team building and problem solving. Examples and reasons for cultural misunderstandings are provided, as well as strategies to avoid them.
