Dans le projet webLab – Development of competence in a web-based laboratory le stage professionnel à l'étranger était intégré dans le processus de développement de la compétence professionnelle des stagiaires. Non seulement des apprentissages curriculairs mais aussi individuels étaient intégrés.
Dans les instruments de contexte régional développés dans le passé pour des groupes cibles du régime transitoire de collèges professionnels à l'évaluation de la compétence basée sur les rôles et les stages pratiques soins fabriqués. Ces concepts novateurs étaient transférés dans le projet webLab, du niveau national, dans les groupes européens de contexte et objectif du régime transitoire en direction de la formation professionnelle initiale.
Les stagiaires ont reçu un certificat valable à la fin du stage. Il s'agissait d'un concept de formation développé qui a préparé les enseignants aux (médias et professionnels) défis éducatifs d'un web-accompagné stage à l'étranger. Leurs expériences dans les phases de test étaient incluses dans le développement successif.
During the project webLab an advanced training concept (ATC) for teachers and trainers has been developed and tested which helps teachers to accompany vocational internships abroad on a web based as well as an individual basis.
As background to the project, this charges a systematic preparation, implementation and evaluation of stays abroad. As an orientation the role-based competence balance has been used as one of the two transferring products. Especially in the context of stays abroad it is required to find ways for reaching accompaniment and support of the adolescents.
Here one can refer to concepts of web-based accompaniment of industrial placements. The accompaniment and support according to the idea of mentoring has to support youths to discover own competencies and abilities and then to include them in the context of vocational training.
Therefore it is necessary to offer the opportunity to systematically develop competencies in coping with new media that exceed pure operator competencies and enable an appropriate behavior in an increasing mediatized world.
Moreover, the adolescents shall have the possibility to certify their stay abroad as a qualification.
Within the framework of a vocational internship abroad, young people who are participating in highly heterogeneous educational programs mostly require special accompanying and supporting instruments.
The webLab-concept took over a web-based mentoring concept for supporting company internships of students.
The combination of different specialists and leaders in various fields of VET, school authorities and teacher education formed the basis for a consortium that could work on a top level.
The webLab consortium integrated education institutions in secondary and tertiary education as well as partners from initial vocational education and further education.
The aim of the project webLab was to develop a concept of individualised and web based accompany of work placements abroad (webLab-concept). This accompany have been achieved through the junction of two instruments that are already proved in practice. The handouts of each transfer instrument of the Blended-Mentoring concept and of the role-based competence balance form the basis for the junction. At the beginning of the project, the instruments has at first been adapted conceptually to the particular challenges of a work placement abroad and to the requirements of young people in an apprenticeship.
The concept is based on competence drafts. These can simultaneously be viewed as standards for the development of the certificate. Through this, the learners should be enabled to use the work placement abroad as qualification unit in their future career planning, too.
The first conceptual basis could be seen as a point of departure of the first workshop of the teacher training. Thus, the gradual establishing continuing education has been injected. The first workshop of the teacher training has been taken place in November 2013, followed by several other workshops facing this overall objective.
In this context, it was aimed to enable teachers handling the webLab-concept requirements for contents and techniques and to arrange them didactically.
In general, the teachers were faced with the challenge of considering the particularities of the audience and its educational background, its region as well as its country. Moreover, they had to formulate a didactic concretion.
The teachers were supported by suggestions of the coordinating group. With the help of work packages, this coordination group considered the regional particularities of their partner countries and formulated on this basis suggestions for designing a work placement.
The first trial phase (Flow 1) has been conducted in the first half of 2014 when the apprentices started with their web-based work placement abroad. The teachers’ experiences gained during this implementation phase already has been systematically included into the continuous development of the project. The experiences therefore has been documented with the help of a category-based survey procedure under the responsibility of a European partner (so called webLab Supporting Documentation).
The experiences served as a basis for improving and developing the webLab concept. It became apparent that the webLab concept and the continuing education program (ATC) cannot be seen isolated; instead, they are closely interrelated.
Each improvement of the webLab concept consistently lead to a modification of both content and focus of the continuing education concept.
The subsequent second trial phase (Flow 2) has been carried out over a period from November 2014 to April 2015. The experiences and results has been used in the same way. Several good-practice-examples could bee identified.
Against this background, a third workshop in March 2015 has been the final opportunity for the involved teachers to exchange their experiences. In this round, the results of a parallel evaluation conducted by a partner country has also been presented. On this basis, the webLab concept were finalised and edited to a handbook (webLab-Manual). The webLab-manual has also been translated to various different languages.
Simultaneously the continuing education concept has been set out in writing. The handbook has been translated into the languages of all project partners. Through all this the Europe-wide transfer of the webLab concept to teachers not involved in the project could be guaranteed.
The project moved into their final phase with a final workshop in May 2015. This workshop served as a basis for further transfer and processing of the project results. The target group were teachers who are interested in the webLab concept and who would like to learn more about the project.On this basis a homepage has been developed.

webLab Advanced Training Concept:
A document, which describes how teachers are going to be prepared in order to undertake successfully the underlying webLab-concept. Contents: sequencing of the teacher training concept, description of underlying teaching and learning comprehension principles, basic competence model, introducing the basic principle of strengths orientation, overall webLab framework, exemplary material, etc.
The ATC has been translated in several languages.(Language: DE, EN, ES, TR)
The document illustrates and describes the overall webLab-concept. Therefore it is a guidance document for teachers and students. Contents: description of the underlying webLab framework, description of the learning units (objectives, addressed competences, time and methodology recommendations, etc.), exemplary material, didactic instructions, master copy, best practice examples, etc. The webLab manual has been translated in several languages. In addition, a publication has been developed, which brings the two main products together and should further support dissemination activites.
