Marketing Text In accordance with ACTs Project WP7 Evaluation & Quality Assurance after the completion of first version of COLREGs Corse and eLearning platform the first step in evaluation of e-learning and e-assessment system developed in WP4.
Development of Course Content and WP5 Learning, is rigorous internal evaluation process through the learning materials/rules/scenarios and the selfassessment.
The internal evaluation process is also intended to provide a set of criteria for the applicability and effectiveness of the course as well as the related IT aspects.
Also, the Internal Evaluation concerns the setting of the scene for Group Evaluation (piloting’s) and the external evaluation of the ACTs COLREGs Course.
Internal Evaluation deals with following parts: Evaluation of Rules, Assessment Aspects, IT aspects of e-learning and e-assessment platform and Recommendations for further improvement.
The UK partner, C4FF, having native speakers and experienced seafarers, has internally evaluated ACTs Course and e-learning platform after it was finalized in English. This report is based on two key questions (Will the course provide a sufficient background knowledge and understanding of the rules? and Will the course improve skills of the watch officers for the application of the rules at sea?)
and several criteria for applicability, effectiveness and delivery of ACTs COLREGs scenario/rules. The IT aspects are evaluated separately considering some 15 criteria/requirements. A report regarding the internal evaluation has been produced and after that, the ACTs course has been improved by further development of course and elearning platform after the report.
Target group Maritime education and Training providers, Deck Officers, Deck Cadets at Maritime Schools/Courses., Professional and Non-professional seafarers, teachers, Maritime VET students, Maritime lecturers, VET instructors, VET skippers.

Area of application
As a part of the teaching, learning and assessment strategy of the COLREGs Course, arrangements are being carried out to evaluate all ACTs scenarios and web materials internally to maintain a high standard of ACTs Course.
The aim and objectives of DEL 15 have been fully met. The result contributes in achieving one of the main project aims, which is development of an innovative on-line e-learning and e-assessment platform to deliver the developed COLREGs course.
