Marketing Text The project „Explore Europe“ gave young people from Germany the possibility to extend their professional skills and to improve their knowledge in a foreign language by spending four weeks abroad (mostly one week of language courses and three weeks of practical training in a respective company). Besides they got to know new aspects and visions of Europe.
In the project “Explore Europe” almost 30 trainees could gain intercultural, international experiences regarding their job career in practical trainings that mostly took four weeks. The participants were job trainees from Germany in acknowledged professional trainings in the administration sector, education, health services, and public service as well as in technical jobs. Apart from trainees in medium-sized firms, also disadvantaged youths should be encouraged to take part in this program. International experiences, intercultural competences and the knowledge in a foreign language are becoming more and more important in the job sector or are sometimes even a precondition. The project “Explore Europe” allows young people to gain an insight into their job’s practice abroad and to improve their competences in foreign languages and intercultural issues, as well as their job performance.
The young people spent four weeks abroad in countries like Ireland, France, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic. Mostly, they started with a one week language course and they continued with a practical training in a company of their occupation. Beforehand, they had been prepared in the respective language and in intercultural topics regarding the target country. After the placement, the young people have been rewarded with the “Europass Mobility” which portrays the accomplished competences and experiences. Thanks to this mobility experiences, most of the participants could improve the possibilities for their further job career.
