Title Care and Guidance, violence prevention and crisis intervention: Training Modules for Professionals in VET Care and Guidance Systems
Project Number DE/13/LLP-LdV/VETPRO/285507
Project Type Mobility - Professionals in Vocational Education and Training VETPRO
Individual Participation Possible until: 30.05.2014
Serious violent incidents in schools worldwide but also in Germany (school shooting in Winnenden und Emstetten) led to a further development of care and guidance systems, e. g. the employment of more educational psychologists. By improving prevention measures school distance/absenteeism and early school dropout as well as serious violent incidents at schools could be reduced. There seems to be more awareness regarding an early detection of such problems.
Yet, there is a strong increase of consultancy needs for students and school staff in VET regarding violence, school distance/absenteeism and school dropout in all of the partner cities in this project. School administrational staff, teachers, social workers and staff of institutions connected to the work with students in VET have a need for extending their knowledge of methods of guidance and counselling and in the prevention of crises and violence. Communities ask for further development of care and guidance systems in schools. There is a growing tendency towards personnel qualification and organisational development in this field of activities.
"care4vet modules" provides for the training of VETPRO specialists concerning issues of care and guidance in VET. In the course of the preceding partnership project CAREforVET effective practice examples of care and guidance systems with a substantial transfer potential have been identified by each participating partner. Training modules which are already offered or new modules to be developed on the basis of this effective practice by the project partners and other partners will be offered to VET specialists from all of Germany (pool project).
Objectives of this project are as follows:
- training of VET specialists concerning care and guidance issues, early school leaving and drop-out, physical and psychlogical violence, large-scale emergency, addictions
- experiencing and exchanging effective practice in care and guidance at VET institutions
- extending the knowledge and competence of the participants regarding the above issues
- identification and validation of the transfer potentials of methods and structures offered by the project partners
- implementation of new knowledges and competences on the job basis of the participants
