Project Number LLP-LdV-ToI-2011/DK-1106
Project Type Innovationstransfer
The main result of the transFAIR project is the adjustment of the FAIRstart training program for foster parents and staffs working with children placed outside home. The training material is free of charge – and accessible if you have an internet connection. The program offers the target group the opportunity to improve their professional care giving skills for younger children in public care. The best results of caregiving (brain development, social functions and - later on success in school and education) are achieved if you improve caregiving practices for young children - from birth to age three. This is why the program focuses on the youngest. However, the theory and practice are also very useful when working with older children and youth.
The full program contains training sessions, a handbook, a game - the FAIRship game - and other pedagogic tools.
Furthermore within the framework of the project methodical work on recognition of staffs learning income has been made and a model for transfer of innovation has been developed.
Please find the training program on www.fairstart-train4care.com
The objectives specified in the application form were:
1) Transfer of the training program for employees working with care for children placed outside their homes and with a short educational background
2) Adjustment and translation of the training material for the new partner countries
3) Development and testing of the Twinning model as a specific model of transfer
4) Method of description of learning outcome
5) Improvement of the interplay between vocational education and practical learning in national contexts
ad 1) The transfer have taken place in relation to Denmark, Bulgaria, Poland and Latvia. It is and over achievement that a transfer proces to Moldovia has been initiated by the Romanian partner.
ad 2) The FAIRstart training program (including, scorecards, the FAIRship game and Handbook) has been adjusted. On the basis of the "old" program two new editions have been developed: One for staff at institutions and one for foster parents. Besides new pedagodic tools for support of independent and individual learning for persons having a reletively short educational background has been developed. The new versions have been translated to the partner languages and to Russian. It is an over achievement that we succeded in devoping two editions of FAIRstart that can be used independently of each other by different target groups.
ad 3) During the project we have developed a Twinning model and the transfer has taken place in the framework of this model. The partners were "organized" in two Twinning groups with the two "old" experienced partners FEG (Romania) and ABPKM (Turkey) as the lead partners. By doing this we were able to exploit to a relatively high degree the experiences fom the "old" project in many fields related to the transfer of the training program: For instance experiences with establishment of strong focus groups, with the use of FAIRstrat instructors and with implementation, dissemination and exploitation of the program in general.
ad 4) A method which encompasses the potential for actually making acquired competences transparent in terms of a later validation and recognition in formal competence validation systems of the partner countries has been developed and tested.
ad 5) The transfer of the training program has taken place in a cooperation between education institutions and working places as much as possible. In some partner countries this brigde building process was more successful that in others.
