Title DC-NET- New approach to become a qualified multinational network electrician –
Project Number LLP-LdV-TOI-2012-LT-0118
Project Type Transfer of Innovation
Marketing Text The main aim of the project is to develop and create of a new innovative E-learning environment, which provides students a possibility for developing their skills within the field of electrical network engineering using a modern and cost-efficient process. It is intended to realise the user interface of the E-learning environment in English, which means that it will be employed extensively. Through this measure users across Europe will be able to benefit from the project results. In order to promote this cross-European added value all E-learning materials that will be integrated into the E-learning system, and which will be prepared in the languages of all the participating countries, will be supplied with headings in English.
Within the framework of this third DC – project, DC-NET (2012 -2014), it is intended to focus on such measures, which to the maximum possible extent serve to reinforce the results of the two previous projects. The most important of these objectives are:
o designing and launching of DC-NET - E-learning environment based on the Finnish model and good experiences
o planning of the adapted apprenticeship concepts and integration of the results into the training process of each partner country
o planning and realizing the training program for head trainers (for DC-NET) in all partner countries
o development, implementation and ensuring of availability in every Baltic country of high-quality written and electronic specialized learning materials in the local language
o building up the permanent network for post-project activities and ensuring its functions and regulations
This new project, DC-NET, is essential because the project serves to ensure in the long run the sustainability and efficiency of the results of the two earlier DC projects to the maximum extent possible. The most significant new practices and methods intended to be used to support and strengthen the sustainability of the results of the earlier projects are, among others, designing and launching in the electrical network engineering field of a completely new E-learning environment, as well as developing and introducing the apprenticeship training model in the Baltic Countries. Both these operating models, which are novel for the Baltic countries, are based on Finnish models developed and the positive experiences obtained with them.
DC-NET will provide much needed opportunities to harmonize Baltic VET systems with EU requirements and best Nordic practices. Next to this, there will be a practical working example of mutually beneficial collaboration between policymakers, employers and training service providers in Electricity sector that is very important for the development and efficiency of VET system in the Baltics.
