In this project we want to test if students with learning disabilities, like autism and dyslexia, can benefit from the individual tailor-made method ‘SlimStampen’: a tool to help students to learn facts, words, topography etcetera. The method is already scientifically tested in mainstream education with good results. It is based on scientific models that take into account the individual knowledge the student already obtained and the way each individual remembers facts. It makes studying more efficient, more effective and more encouraging.
Our education is based on the assumption that students learn best while doing tasks and by working on social skills. However, in some courses, like the ICT course, it is necessary to learn facts by hart. Key competences as Learning how to Learn and Digital Competences are basic parts of our programmes. We are always looking at more efficient and effective ways for our students to learn. SlimStampen is a promising application we want to test.
SlimStampen is a method that is used as a tool to help students to learn facts, words, topography, etc.. It is based on scientific models and formulas that take into account the individual knowledge the student already obtained and the way each individual remembers facts. This makes studying more efficient, more effective and more encouraging. The method is already scientifically tested in mainstream education with good results:
The consortium consists of 4 partners. Three of them are specialized in educating people with (learning) disabilities, with the aim to get a job on the open labour market and/or participating (more) independent in society; inclusion. The fourth is the University of Groningen. The University developed and tested SlimStampen which became an evidence based tool.
Description The GOLD project will test the fact-learning methodologies developed in the Netherlands in other EU-nations. By involving VET providers from different EU member states in the project, the more valid this assessment is. Moreover, by having multiple countries participate, new bridgeheads for improving learning by using this methodology will be formed. Translating core materials and tools, publication of best practice, including the guidelines for implementation, will lower the threshold for implementing this methodology in other European countries.

Students with learning disabilities from the VET partners ( and the stakeholders of the VET partners) will have a new method for learning, that is more effective, efficient and motivating.
For this they will be able to get higher grades and improve their chances for a job on the open labour market. Students with learning disabilities will have the possibility to learn more effective and efficient with this motivating method, in special education as well as in mainstream education.
This will make them more independent and will contribute to a more inclusive society.
