Marketing Text Le projet Entangle a une approche novatrice de formation à l'entrepreneuriat dans les instituts de formation professionnelle (EFP). Il adopte une méthode à grande échelle avec des matériaux et des outils de soutien, à l'approche directe et concrète n'est pas encore appliquée dans la plupart des FEPs. Le but ultime, d'avoir plus d'élèves à partir d'EFP leur propre entreprise, sera atteint directement et indirectement par l'amélioration de la qualité de l': leçons, matériel d'apprentissage, les conseils, l'orientation et relations entre les EFP entrepreneurs / anciens étudiants d'EFP.
The ENTANGLE project addresses entrepreneurship in (Secondary) Vocational Education institutes. The project has an innovative practical approach to stimulating entrepreneurship among students in VET institutions by providing their teachers with the tools and materials to educate, inspire and motivate their students for them to be able to pursue a career as an entrepreneur.
VET students who finish their studies are usually expected to continue their education elsewhere or start a job. Some former students however start up their own firm. Most teachers are unaware of this next step a student takes after graduation. Relations between teachers and world of work should be improved.
The concrete objectives of the project are to:
1. Gain an in depth understanding of the barriers and issues facing VETs in Europe on teaching entrepreneurship, primarily in the partner countries.
2. Adapt existing training materials (from mainly First Elements) and complement with new materials and tools to create a new, multilingual, blended training course.
3. Guarantee the training course’s quality and responsiveness to needs by carrying out a thorough transnational pilot testing process with VET teachers.
4. Ensure the widespread uptake and use of the materials and tools following its launch by implementing a comprehensive dissemination and valorization plan.
The ENTANGLE project aimed to develop an innovative approach to entrepreneurship teaching in VET institutes (VETs), by developing a full scale method with supporting materials and tools. The ultimate goal has been to have more VET students starting their own enterprise, it has been reached by directly and indirectly improving the quality of: lessons, learning material, advice, guidance and VET-small entrepreneur/former VET student relations. In this matter the project has complied with the objective as set out, it has developed a training platform and learning materials for VET teachers to increase their competencies in entrepreneurship training. Through the improvement of their skills, the access to learning materials which they can use in their teaching activities, and the connections with entrepreneurs, they are better prepared to guide their students and increase their interest and motivation to become entrepreneurs. The increase in the number of VET students actually becoming entrepreneurs can only be measured in the long term, however early feedback from teachers and students allows us to be confident in the contribution of ENTANGLE to this goal.
In general, based upon the feedback of the target public in the pilot sessions and during the dissemination events, we can indicate that the positive reactions and the level of participation were higher than expected. Participating VET teachers indicated that they will surely use the ENTANGLE results and materials on their own teaching activities. The impact of the project results on VET teachers (and other target groups) can be measured through their initial interest (measured by their level of participation in the needs analysis), the feedback and evaluation during the pilot sessions (measured by the number of participants and their evaluation) and through their participation in dissemination activities (see numbers of section H).
With regards to their initial interest, which can be seen as a first indication on the possible impact the project might have had, in total 35 teachers and 39 students have participated in the activity (aim was 30 students and 30 teachers). During the pilot sessions the participants provided feedback and assessment on the ENTANGLE platform and materials, R12 Pilot evaluation report provides details on the specific results, but with regard to impact the following can be stated: initial planning was 60 participants in the pilot workshops and 30 in the on-line testing, the final number of participants was 182 participants, 109 in the workshops and 52 in the on-line testing. In total 109 unique participants (some participants participated in both types of testing), showing the high interested generated by the target public, of the 109, 87 were teachers, and the rest future teachers (still in training).
The assessment during the piloting also included auto-evaluation questions concerning the perceived impact of the results on the skills and competencies of the participants and asked them to compare the increase in skills when compared before their participation. VET teachers indicated across all countries a perceived increase in their entrepreneurship teaching competencies (quadrupling even in the case of Slovakia). In fact the participants in the pilot sessions believe they will use Entangle tools when teaching entrepreneurship now or in the future with an average score of 7,96.
When analysing the realisation of the specific objectives of the project we can only conclude these have been achieved fully:
The work on WP 2 situation analysis and needs of the target public in the participating countries has lead to a good understanding of the barriers and issues on teaching entrepreneurship, primarily. WP 3, 4, 5 & 6 ensured adequate adaptation of the existing training materials and have complemented these with new materials and tools, creating the ENTANGLE training course.The transnational and thorough validation and testing (WP7) guaranteed the training course’s quality and responsiveness to needs of the process with VET teachers. WP8 through widespread dissemination ensured the widespread uptake and use of the materials and tools, and the future sustainability has been defined in the exploitaiton plan.

The main outcomes are the adaptation of ViPiA and BDF materials and development of additional modules of relevant content and support materials and tools for teachers, and an on-line platform to facilitate the access to these materials, available for Spain, Netherlands, Cyprus, Belgium, Lithuania and Slovakia.
The online platform is available at http://entangle.ementoria.com/. It contents the training materials. Either the platform and the materials and easy to use and understand.
Other products of the project are project website, dissemination materials (newsletters, leaflets), database with the existing bibliography and documentation; Report on the regional situation of entrepreneurship teaching in VETs and VET-micro enterprise relationships in each partner country/region, etc. A blog and profiles at social networks (Facebook and LinkedIn) have also been developed. That helps promote the project and attract representatives of the target group to the use project results.
