Marketing Text Led by the Think Tank Pour la Solidarité asbl, and implemented through a consortium of seven organisations established in four countries – France, Belgium, Bulgaria and Romania - the ORA project (Guiding Differently) aims to improve the socioprofessional orientation process of people with disabilities.
1) To develop a new active guidance procedure for the PWD’s integration in society that puts the person at the heart of the guidance scheme.
2) To make the action of the network stakeholders involved in the integration of people with disabilities more visible and complementary.
3) To professionalise the educational specialists/ professionals, through a reflexive approach and exchange on their guidance practices and training of persons with disabilities.
The ORA project proposes to transfer a methodology and a tool developed by the University of South Brittany in the field of guidance. The transfer takes place from the general guidance to the specific sector of guidance and training of PWD.
The transferred methodology: It is a methodology to carry out a collective research-action on the quality approach of guidance.
The tool: It is a guide of indicators of the quality of guidance improvement, which would enable identification and formulation of basic quality indicators for guiding and ensuring career paths of PWD.
In the course of the project (nov. 2011 - dec. 2013), the seven European partners organise each on his territory a working group which leads a research-action on the practices of guidance of PWD and produces a new active guidance procedure.
Key steps of the new procedure are tested in “ORA workshops”, in which each partner supervises at least 5 PWD and 5 support supervisors/ professionals in putting experimentation into practice.
A “European Charter for an active guidance of persons with disabilities” is produced, as a tool allowing both changes in professional positions and sensitisation of the guidance-job-training actors in needs and expectations of persons with disabilities.
