Marketing Text Good Practice Guide presents the i-Lab concept; it includes information on principles of i-Lab use, presents possible areas of implementation of the Innovation Laboratory.
An original version of the Guide (issue I) was developed and published in 2008 by the Partnership of the Leonardo da Vinci Project Competence Development Program for Innovation Laboratories. That project aimed at development of practice and promotion of the i-Lab use in Europe. Under the project, there were developed three innovation laboratories operating to this day (in Poland, Turkey and Romania). Selected outcomes of this project (i.a. Innovation Laboratory – Guide to Good Practice) constitute an element of transfer in the project, which is the subject of this report.
Under the project, the issue I of the Guide included update of the content concerning principles and guidelines of designing innovation laboratories, as well as the moderator’s role and tasks. The section IT technologies supporting the innovation laboratory’s work was extended with a description of the VBS software developed under the i-Lab2 project. The information about the completed i-Lab2 project were published. The section Case studies of the use of innovation laboratories was extended with descriptions of sessions executed under the project – nine sessions in all. Moreover, a description of brainstorming as a basic method applied in an innovation laboratory was added. An attachment, including the detailed data concerning selected innovation laboratories, was updated and extended.
Target group VET teachers, trainers and VET institution managers, potential i-Lab users.
Innovation Laboratories – Guide to Good Practice was conceived as a publication to help understand what an innovation laboratory was, how its potential might be used, how to use the operating i-Labs efficiently, design and create one’s own i-Lab. Besides, the Guide was published also as a promotional, dissemination and information material of the project. It was handed over to the final conference’s participants. It is also distributed among institutions cooperating with partners and related to vocational education.
The Guide constitutes the compendium of knowledge about innovation laboratories, so it may be applied at each stage of planning and use of innovation laboratories. Under the project, it performed mainly the role of promotional, dissemination and information materials concerning the executed project, achieved outcomes, capacity of the i-Lab use and its potential.
Area of application Good Practice Guide shall be applied as a manual for i-Lab users, guide within the scope of i-Lab designing and organising its sessions, as well as a material disseminating the project outcomes.
