Marketing Text It is well documented throughout Europe and in other parts of the world, that marginalized groups, defined either by income, education and occupational status, have poorer health and shorter life expectancy. The eQUITY project aims to capacitybuild through health care workers in Europe by identifying best practises , swapping skills and mentoring colleagues. Further more we aim to develop a web portal of knowledge and several m-learning tools to assist the HCW in developing their personal learning environment hence enabling them to work more focussed with combating inequality in healt.
During the two-year project period, the eQUITY consortium, which comprises higher education institutions teamed with health care centres in five European countries, aim to develop strategies to train health care workers (HCW) in evidence based strategies for communication and counselling with marginalized groups.
The project is expected to develop and evaluate a model for communication and counselling with marginalised groups which can be used by HCW to address health inequalities. The eQUITY model will also encourage continuous learning and professional development based on evidence.
