Wenn Dienstleistungsnutzer und Job jedoch nicht zusammenpassen, kann es oft passieren, dass dieser sich mit seiner Rolle schwer tut und letztendlich aufgibt. Aber wenn der Dienstleistungsnutzer selbst sich über seine eigenen Stärken nicht im Klaren ist, wie können Sie persönlich helfen?
Die EGUIDE-Tools sind benutzerfreundliche, schnelle, animierte Online- und Beratungs-Tools, basierend auf Erfahrungen im psychometrischen Testbereich und so designt, dass sie für benachteiligte Menschen einfach zu gebrauchen sind und Spaß machen. Die Tools bieten Beratungs- und Beschäftigungspersonal eine professionelle Analyse, welche eine validierte Plattform für Diskussionen mit Klienten bereitstellt. Sie haben sogar die Möglichkeit, zu überprüfen, ob der Benutzer die kognitiven Fähigkeiten erfüllt, welche für den Job erforderlich sind.
Das AppsGuide-Projekt bringt die EGUIDE-Tools aus Irland nach Schweden, den Niederlanden und dem Vereinigten Königreich und passt sie für den Gebrauch in ganz Europa an.
This project was targeted at agencies working with people who have experienced challenges in their lives e.g. addictions, mental ill health, long term unemployment, living in a disadvantaged area with low aspirations. These issues not only make it harder to find work or training, but limit people’s confidence and self- knowledge, so they often don't believe they can move forward. Further, if they start a job that doesn’t fit them, they may quit and feel even less confident about working. What is needed is knowledge that they have skills, interests and the right personality to fit a particular job, and the self-esteem that recognising their own interests brings. Many services lack the right tools to help them see these things and have to rely on either discussion about what they are good at – which they might not consciously know – or written psychometric tools that are complicated to explain, may refer to unfamiliar situations, and can be a barrier to people with literacy problems.
The EGUIDE Platform and its interactive tools provide the solution. The tools are based on good practice in psychometric testing, rigorously developed and tested via Leonardo projects, and designed to be relevant, fun, and easy to use. And now they are updated and ready for use in English across Europe and also in Swedish and Dutch.
Through the AppsGuide project we have:
• adapted the tools for use in Sweden, the UK and the Netherlands, and update them in Ireland
• developed an mobile-friendly version for iPads and tablets to use remotely and flexibly, as these are readily accessible to disadvantaged people
• tested the use of peer mentors to give the feedback about people’s interests, personality-environment fit and skills, thus building even more confidence and removing more barriers
• pilot the adapted tools in a range of support settings and build up an international norm group as the statistical reference for the new tools
• spread awareness of the tools and piloted their wider uptake, ready for rollout after the project.
The overall aim is to make it easier to help disadvantaged people gain the confidence, motivation, direction and clarity they need to find jobs that genuinely fit them and in which they can stay, grow and flourish.
The consortium includes diverse support settings – public sector employment support, community-based job support, social enterprises and private training to demonstrate the wide applicability.
The AppsGuide project is based on innovative, online, animated psychometric guidance tools developed through a series of Leonardo da Vinci projects. In this project we have:
* updated the tools and platform that hosts them
* adapted them for use in Sweden, Scotland and Netherlands
* tested them with over 400 prospective users from different countries and barriers to moving forward in their careers
* tested the tools with peer mentors giving the preliminary guidance feedback
* created apps for iPads and tablets, to make the tools more flexible to use
* developed learning and guidance on the use of the tools and feedback in different types of organisations and with different types of clients
* developed training for practitioners and trainers to train them to spread the use of the tools and feedback techniques in a quality context
* developed guidance on using peer mentors in employability support and how the EGUIDE tools can support this process
* created a range of promotional materials and videos and webpages to make the adapted tools widely available

The EGUIDE tools are a set of interactive, animated online psychometric assessment tools designed for disadvantaged jobseekers and useful to people with barriers to work, low confidence and/or not sense of direction.
The EGUIDE platform behind tools provides instant analysis for guidance and employability support staff, as well as trained peer mentors, who can then use the results produced as a platform to discuss clients' interests, personality-environment fit, skills and cognitive skills related to prospective areas of work.
The tools are all designed and refined through a series of Leonardo projects (TOI and Partnership before this), using occupational psychologists, guidance specialists and people who worked closely with people with a range of disadvantages to test and develop the tools with strong norms behind them
In the AppsGuide project, these products have been updated and enhanced to fit a variety of cultures, as well as creating app versions for iPads and tablets.
The Project has now created adapted training materials for the use of EGUIDE by Practitioners in each of the partner countries and more widely in Europe.
